If you have bought a shiny new iPod Touch or an iPhone but you can easily become bored of it because a blank iPhone/iPod Touch is not much fun until you load it up with apps. Apps come in two cats: One are the freewares and other the sharewares… like there are many free apps and while other are apps in various price ranges, although not all of them are really useful. Also there are plenty of demo apps available, which is great, the good thing is that you can try out the software and then if you find it helpful or if you like it, you can buy the full version.
But if you want some good freebies and aren’t too keen on spending, then we’ve made it very simple for you. I am going to share a list of some of the best free apps available on the iTunes Store. Most of these apps are available in the India app store but some are not, so it’s best if you go to the US store. All these apps are downloadable through iTunes after which you just sync them to your iPhone/iPod Touch.If you talk to anyone they will say that apps are the best part of their phone. It doesn’t matter which of the iPhones you have, it could be the latest Iphone 4 or an older version of it, you can still use apps. You’ll find there is an app to suit everyone, as there really is so much on the market. If they are free as well, well it doesn’t really get much better than that does it?
Cricket T20 Fever Lite
For cricket lovers: if you’re a big fan of cricket, which I guess most of you are, then you’ll love this game. So enjoy the T20 cricket with T20 Fever Lite is the free version of the game.
Paper Toss
It’s a great fun to pass time. Just as the name suggests, you have to toss a paper ball into the trash just as you would while sitting in an office. However, it’s not so easy enough, as you’ll have to counter wind from table fans that makes it more challenging. There are a couple of different locations like in an office, a basement and the airport lounge.
Touch Hockey
Flipside5 Inc. brings a good game of air hockey for free. It includes Multiplayer modes where you can play with friends over Bluetooth and WiFi. Also you can play on device head to head.
App for Facebook, the top social network. I think this app needs no more description. With this portable version of Facebook you can now stay connected no matter where you are. Do all the things you usually do, like checking your friend’s latest photos, status updates, look up a phone number or upload your own photos on the go and whatever you can do on the facebook..
Tap Tap Revenge 3
The famous Tap Tap Revenge game is now available in free. A lot of new levels and new tracks are added along with a few fixes in v3.1.

A twitter client for your iPhone.
Photoshop.com Mobile
With this free app you can now edit your pictures and share them on the move. Plenty of new features like video playback, straighten, sharpen and contrast tools and borders are included in the version 1.1.0.21. Also you can add frames to your photographs.
Dragon Dictation
Users should be delighted as they no longer have to type out messages. Dragon Dictation is a free app from the makers of Dragon Naturally Speaking, which is the desktop software. It converts all your voice into text for SMS or e-mail. The new version 1.2.0 adds support for the iPod Touch, enhanced user interface and an end-of-speech detection feature. It’s absolutely free, so you shouldn’t have it.
Google Mobile App
If you are Tired of typing then here’s a quicker way to find things on your favourite search engine. The Google Mobile app lets you use the microphone of the iPhone and simply speak into it what you want to search and it will find your desired results. It’s pretty accurate as well and you can choose if you want to search the Web, Images, Map, etc.
Dictionary – Word Web
It’s an easy app to use British English dictionary and thesaurus. This is a very handy application for students, bloggers or anybody for that matter. It includes quite a comprehensive database with over 2,85,000 words, phrases and more. The search feature also includes alphabetical listing, spelling suggestions, fast pattern matching search and customizable search options. It is definitely worth checking out this application.
Nimbuzz
It was first launched as a Java App and now we have it for the iPhone as well. Nimbuzz integrates some of the popularly used Instant Messaging clients and Skype in one handy application. This has now been updated to 1.5.1 and has full support for iPhone 3.0 OS.
