If you are one of the many who love the film then you will be thrilled that Activision has brought Ice Age 3: Dawn of the Dinosaurs to the console. Based on the motion picture of the same name Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs is the next chapter which lets player taking on the role of more than six playable characters, including everyone’s favorite Ice Age friends and newly introduced characters, players master their unique skills and abilities across more than 15 action-packed levels.

Then there are Scrat, Manny and Diego. Best of all is Buck, all action and more demanding, who arrives late in the game. In addition to the expanded features of the single-player gameplay, for the first time in an Ice Age game, players can team up with friends and family in eight competitive multiplayer mini-games.

There is also a challenge mode for everyone to enjoy. The game includes fairly straight forward combat, exploration issions and of course collectables: you gather colour crystals, for instance, to unlock songs and movie clips.

Ice Age 3: Dawn of the Dinosaurs is a visual treat; the developers merit much praise for successfully adapting the movie to the console. The character animations are brilliantly coloured and well defined, with the action set in bright, fun landscapes that compliment the figures. The numerous cutscenes do not disappoint, and thankfully the visuals are not let down by the audio.

Ice Age 3: Dawn of the Dinosaurs is about fun and variety, all in glorious colour: it is not a mind game or a technical challenge. Younger gamers and the many fans of the movie should give it a go. It is a great game that you can play with the entire family without having to worry about violence or anything of that nature.  While the gameplay does  tend to get a bit repetitive at the end kids should have fun controlling their favorite characters throughout the whole adventure.
