Recording iPhone Screen Video on iOS 7
iOS7 jailbreak has now been released publically and is within everyone’s reach, now we might be seeing some new and innovative developments regarding Cydia. CoolStar’sRecordMyScreen is one amongst the few that has managed to grab our attention. It is the specifically upgraded version for iOS7.
The focal point of RecordMyScreen is that it depends on the functioning version of Mobile Substrate. However it does not facilitate the users much and this could be drastic with Evasion jailbreak in the present shape. But this problem will be resolved soon, as confirmed by Saurik and the Evad3rs team, which will make it work again using the powerful tweaks. Now let’s take a look at the RecordMyScreen . Like many other tweaks RecordingMyScreen works exactly as it’s endorsed. It supports OpenGL ES and facilitates the jail broken users to record what’s playing on their screen. RecordMyScreen started its journey in the form of a proper iPhone app for the open sourced community and the creators considered it profitable to present its functionality along with the additional power to the jailbreak world.
In order to start using the new version of RecordMyScreen, the users would first have to add the developer’s private repository to their list of Cydia’s repos. Another suggestion is that the Activator’s latest beta version should also be installed in order to activate the screen capture (it might be pre-installed in some cases)
Step1: Launch the Cydia, select the manage option and afterwards select Sources.
Step2: Then select the option of Edit afterwards select Add. Add the exact repository address in the popup window: repo.coolstar.org
Step3: Before selecting and installing the RecordMyScreen packages, let the package to get refreshed.
Step4: Repeat step 2 to add Ryan Petrich’s repository to get Activated beta for iOS and repeat step 1 in case the Activator’s package is not automatically installed. Now replace the repository address in step 2 with this address: repetri.ch/repo/
Step5: Browse Activator and then install. When both packages are installed it will become easy to assign an Activator action, so that RecordMyScreen can start functioning directly from the settings app.
The videos that are recorded get saved in/var/mobile/documents and can be easily accessed by using iFile and related apps.
