Sony Computer Entertainment has announced PlayStation Move which will be released globally on September 17, 2010. Also includes an exclusive title for Move, called Me & My Pet. PlayStation Move redefines motion gaming with the most immersive and realistic gaming experience only possible on the PlayStation 3 system.
It’s a new way to enjoy games on the PlayStation 3 with the use of a motion controller and the PlayStation 3 USB camera. It enables instinctive and realistic play, by identifying movements not only on both x and y axes, but also on the z axis too. It is very sharp and reacts in a flash to even very slight movements, for instance changes in wrist angle, thus allowing you for true 1:1 motion control.
The motion controller features 3-axis gyro, 3-axis acceleration, and a motion tracking sensor, enables detection of player’s hand movements with high accuracy. Playstation Eye, the USB camera for Playstation 3 does all that and detects the motion of sphere on the end of controller, this enables Playstation Move to spot 3D absolute position of the controller in the play space.
Accuracy matters a lot in those games which require delicate tilting and accurate position recognition, and the Playstation Move is ideal for these types of games. Like the game showed in the video below, where the pet runs around freely using the specified surface area. Before starting the game, you’ll have to place the motion controller vertically in the center of the area, so it can recognize the surface area.
With the exclusive title Me & My Pet, you can play with your pet while having variety of tools and toys. You can also alter the Pet’s appearance and enjoy 3D mode support.
