The developer of the Spirit Jailbreak (Comex) has announced that tomorrow (30th April) they will be going to release their jailbreak for the iPad, iPhone, and iPod touch.
After waiting for a long time finally they announced on their official twitter page.

It was believed that the jailbreak will be a browser-based jailbreak like jailbreakme.com but Chpwn on his twitter account confirmed a few hours ago that Spirit doesn’t work out of a browser has nothing to do with pwn2own..He also confirmed that Spirit will work on latest firmware of all devices like iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad.
Good news for those people who updated to 3.1.3 and got stuck. However it’s important to note that Spirit is a jailbreak only. It will not unlock your iphone. There is no news about the 3.1.3 iphone unlock. I expect that we will see the 3.1.3 unlock after the Iphone OS 4 will be released in few weeks.
If you want to use jailbreak for your device, don’t update itunes to latest 9.1.1 version. Because it will not work with the version and iTunes can detect Spirit and remove it, so make sure you don’t “update”.
Hence, the jailbreak will provide an untethered jailbreak for all current devices.

I have my ipad and I was anxiously waiting for some jailbreak to come. I’m glad I’ll be able to jailbreak my ipad with spirit and will take full advantage of the device.
